Sephora had it’s Summer Sale for it’s VIB Insiders (those who spend at least $350 per calendar year) and VIB Rouge Insiders (those who spend at least $1,000 per calendar year) last month and the excitement was real! As a VIB Insider I couldn’t wait to stock up on cult favorites like Summer Friday’s Jet Lag Mask, Fenty Beauty’s Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation and their Pro Filt’r Mattifying Primer. Before I knew it I had 18 amazing products in my cart totaling $780

OMG had I lost my mind?

Only one year did I ever become a VIB Rouge Insider and that was back before adulting and car notes-good times! Sadly, those super splurge days are over. I knew I had to get my cart down and ASAP if I wanted these items before the next weekend. So I escorted some products to the chopping block and ended with 13 solid choices I am proud of. It wasn't easy! I went back and forth especially with a brush set and new palette, my hardest removal * heyyy Jackie Ainia- love you girl * and ended with a cart totaling $347.92, just under my budget of $350.

I wanted staple products that I could make last and get the most use out of.

How did I do it?

I eliminated palettes, brushes, correctors and oils.
I opted for minis instead of full size products when possible.
I kissed my LA MER dreams goodbye for now.

1. BEAUTYBLENDER beautyblender® $20.00

A must have for perfect foundation application. I even use it to apply translucent powder under my eyes. I purchased the nude color but I also like the classic pink color too.

2. FRESH Soy Face Cleanser MINI $15.00

I prefer this jelly like consistency over foam washes. I like to feel things “working” LOL! I use this after taking off my makeup and before I use any mask.

3. FENTY BEAUTY BY RIHANNA Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation $35.00

I used the Sephora Foundation Finder to select the correct shade for me and it was a success. It matched Fenty’s 420 with my NARS Matte foundation in Seychelles. I recommend using the Foundation Finder if you plan on switching foundations and want to save a trip to the mall.

4. ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Bow Wiz $21.00

I apply hair like strokes to my brows and this precision point pen and lightweight brush make it so easy to achieve the boy brow look.

5. FARMACY Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm $22.00

This clean product literally melts the day off. I prefer this balm over wipes especially after applying a full face of makeup at the beginning of the day. It also comes with a cute spatula for easy scooping.

6. BENEFIT COSMETICS They’re Real! Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara $25.00

I always feel glam after applying this mascara. It makes my eyes pop and with an easy application brush, I can apply to my bottom lashes and avoid smudges.

7. JOSIE MARAN Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter $36.00

This creamy, yummy scented body cream brings a refreshed, radiant appearance to my skin.

8. FENTY BEAUTY BY RIHANNA Pro Filt’r Mattifying Primer $32.00

I’m obsessed with this packaging and I’ve never used a primer that smelled so good! It also does what it says-great mattifying primer!

9. DIOR Rouge Blush $44.00

This blush is so elegant and well packaged I almost didn’t use it, I wanted it for display LOL! It smells heavenly and came wrapped in a velvet pouch. Dior will be getting more of my money soon!
